Screen_Shot_2015-05-28_at_11.42.12_AMBovie Medical’s CEO, Rob Gershon, had the privilege of being interviewed for It's Your Health Network Radio. The interview reached over 1,000,000 listeners.  In this interview, Gershon tells us about the benefits of the J-Plasma® surgical tool.  With advanced technology, science and the chemical element Helium, the J-Plasma® tool is able to produce a relatively cool thermal temperature.  For Surgeons and Patients alike, this brings benefits.

The low thermal spread means minimizing collateral damage to unintended tissues or structures during surgery. The electrode is ergonomically designed for extreme precision and control.  Gershon refers to plasma as being the fourth state of matter, along with solid, liquid, and gas.

J-Plasma® is currently being used in surgical procedures that range from Ob/Gyn, to plastic surgery and dermatology.  J-Plasma® is especially good for ablation of endometriosis and plastic surgery and can be used on soft tissue.  It is planned that J-Plasma® will continue to expand to other surgical specialty areas in the future.

Mr. Gershon mentions that the J-Plasma® tool is a transformational technology helping the surgeon to perform with a heightened degree of precision.

Three major functions of the J-Plasma® surgical tool:

  • Cut (dissection)

  • Coagulate (stop bleeding)

  • Ablate (evaporates or removes biological tissue)

Three major benefits of the J-Plasma® device:

  • Minimal thermal spread with negligible collateral tissue damage

  • Minimal penetration in ablation mode with single tissue layer effect

  • Heightened precision for delicate tissue removal

Gershon mentions that, from his experience, surgeons will have success and that, “Success stories tend to go viral."
