Great Deals

Rob Saron 1987 1I have had a beard for over thirty years.  It was black once, and now it is grey.  But the part of shaving that has always been uncomfortable is shaving the neck.  So when I saw, in Saturday’s Wall Street Journal, an article “The Grooming Kit” about Jeff Raider’s online shaving company Harrys.com, it caught my eye.  Apparently, Raider upset the high-quality eyewear industry and is now setting out to do it in shaving. Any guy knows that the razors he buys have a very high profit margin in them for Gillette or whomever.  Harry’s seems to combine German manufacturing at a much lower price than the big guys, plus no tax and free shipping and handling.  I ordered my razor and some blades Sunday but the starter kits were sold out, as were most of the handles.  Writing about an improved shave is like telling a golfer he is going to save a few strokes on his score.  In both cases, they are going to buy it!  It seems like a great deal.

My other great deal over the weekend came from Wine Enthusiast,  which had a buy 6 stems and get two free on their Fusion “unbreakable” wine glasses.  The best wine glass according to most people is made by Riedel.  The problem with them is that they break when you try to gently wash and dry them.  The Fusion Classic I have had for some time, come with a ten year replacement guarantee.  I can’t swear to that, but I will say they are a MUCH more durable glass than the Riedel version, and I can’t tell them apart when in my hand.  The Fusion wine glasses are not only more durable they are much less expensive.  Combine that with the buy six and get two free, and I restocked my shelves at a very attractive price.

In other Great Deal News, Bovie launches the 2013 version of its Sleep Well You Bought a Bovie Promotion on April 1st. This very well may be the best deal for the doctors yet!  We have added our LED lighting line to this year’s program.  So here is the deal…buy a 940, 950 or 1250 and get a five year warranty.  Add the purchase of one of the LED lights to the order and you just doubled your five year warranty to TEN YEARS plus the doctor gets coupons for a $1000 in free electrodes.  They may sleep so well they are likely to be late for work.
