Romney Raises $170 Million

ID 100103537Generally speaking, I know better than to discuss politics or religion.  That being said, while an earlier blog had some of my suggestions for more intelligent taxation, the 2.3% excise tax on medical manufacturing is going to hurt business and jobs in the USA.  It is a bad idea!  That, you can take to the bank, or the poor house, as the case may be. How about if I add to my suggested taxing sales on the internet, with charging a penny or two to every e-mail?  Maybe that would help the post office, which once again is going to raise the price of a stamp, and at the same time curtail many of the e-mails that you didn’t want anyway.

You might be asking yourself, "What does this have to do with the headline about Romney raising $170 million dollars in September?"  The answer would be, a better use of that money.  Why not use the bulk of the money Romney and Obama are raising, to pay for food for the hungry?  Have you ever thought about the amount of money raised and spent on these elections for a job that only pays $400,000.00 a year?  Not that four hundred grand is chump change-- that is serious money.

In September, Governor Romney raised, and plans to spend, four hundred twenty-five (425) times what he is going to make, in a year.  President Obama is doing the same thing.  I don’t understand the math.  In business, if you lose a nickel on every widget you sell, it doesn’t matter how many widgets you sell, you can’t make that up.  This seems like similar math to me.

That being said, and this comment is from me and not the company: I am tired of attorneys running our government and believe we have a much better chance with a businessman running the country.

You might enjoy the following Wall Street Journal article, Romney Raised $170 Million in September:

"Mitt Romney and his Republican allies raked in more than $170 million in campaign donations in September, his campaign announced on Monday, marking a big jump from its August total but still short of the $181 million President Barack Obama raised in conjunction with his Democratic affiliates.

The Romney campaign announced its September fundraising tally on the first day of a three-day retreat for top donors in New York City, an event organized to thank the Republican nominee’s top financial backers and prime the pumps for the final sprintby squeezing more money from Romney donors who haven’t contributed the maximum $2,500 for his general-election faceoff with the president.

Mr. Romney tallied his biggest fundraising month to date during the most turbulent stretch of his campaign, as polls showed the Republican losing ground to Mr. Obama after the conventions and a video surfaced in which Mr. Romney tells a small group of donors that nearly half the country depends on government and views themselves as “victims.”

With its September haul, the Romney campaign, the Republican National Committee and a series of other state and national party committees ended the month more than $191 million in the bank to spend on the final blitz. But not all that money can be spent equally; the Romney campaign is guaranteed a lower rate for television advertising than the RNC or its other affiliates, and the campaign did not break down the amounts for each group."
