Mobile Surgery Table resized 600Following is an interview from Chris Padgett of DRE Products.  We hope, through Padgett, you’re able to gain a better understanding of this state-of-the-art mobile surgery table.

Q) Why was this product developed?

We developed this mobile surgery table to provide ambulatory surgery centers and multi-specialty centers with a versatile trolley that converts to a high quality Surgical Table.  This mobile surgery table is capable of all ergonomics and standards required for the majority of outpatient surgical applications.

Q) What are the Surgery Center Applications?

The surgery center applications include all of the following:

  • Patient Transport and Recovery

  • Ophthalmics

  • ENT and Maxillofacial

  • Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic procedures

  • Gynecology

  • Arthroscopy - including specialized shoulder arthroscopy thru optional attachment

Q) What C-Arm Procedures Are Available?

The C-arm procedure for this mobile surgery table not only is designed for superior C-arm access but offers 18 inches of traversing (slide positioning) for more ease of use with C-Arm. This is more than many current O.R. tables used in Surgery Centers.

Q) What Problems Does this Product Solve for Surgery Centers?

Surgery Center staff has had two major dilemmas to overcome:

  1. How to reduce inefficiency and staff injury from transferring patients from stretcher (trolley) to O.R. table?

  2. How to reduce costs of having different surgical tables designed for different surgical applications?

In order to serve the multiple requirements of having patient transport and multi-specialties in the OR, the table has been designed with additional features not often seen in the Surgery Center environment including:

  •  Long lasting battery power: The battery on this table is designed to last up to 5 days on battery operation with a full charge.

  • Superior steering ability: A "fifth wheel" can be engaged in the center of the table, allowing ease of use in both patient transport and in the O.R.  Often orthopaedic surgeons will want their patient completely repositioned in relation to the anesthesia machine and arthroscopy tower in his/her operating room.  This often requires the table to be turned around 180 degrees at times.  With this mobile surgery table, this is very easily and rapidly accomplished!

  • Stress reducing patient care mattress: We gave special care and attention to this feature.  So that patients can remain relaxed, stress-free and comfortable.  Due to the extra care spent on this feature, this mobile surgery table definitely stands out.

  • Easy conversion: This table has the ability to easily convert to different specialty disciplines.  The easy conversion allows for medical professionals to quickly make the necessary changes, safely and efficiently.

Overall, this table was designed for better patient care with its features and comfort.  It was designed for better staff care through its ergonomics and mobility.
